Staff

Amanda began working with young children at her church’s nursery when she was 14 years old. She obtains both a BA in Child Development and Family Studies and MA in Child Development. Amanda has a wide range of experience working children and teachers all over Los Angeles County from different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Following her passion of working with children and their dedicated teachers, in the Fall of 2012, Amanda became the Director at St. Stephen’s Preschool. She is a part of many Early Childhood Education professional organizations including CRECEF (board member), COC ECE Advisory Committee, Santa Clarita Directors Network, Santa Clarita Faith Based Director’s Group, and NAES ECE Advisory (Chairperson). In Amanda’s spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, watching/attending sporting events, and spending time with her dogs and family.

Julie began working as an Assistant Teacher at St. Stephen’s in 1993 while both her children were in attendance. She became a teacher in 2001 after competing ECE classes at College of the Canyons. Additionally, she has a BA in Art History from UCLA. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to all types of music, going to the movies and museums, attending concerts, and keeping up with arts in the LA area. She teaches our 2-Year-Old Program on Tuesday/Thursday and is our Monday/Wednesday/Friday Playground Teacher.

Parminder was born and raised in West London, England. She began her career at St. Stephen’s Preschool in 1994 as an assistant teacher. At that time, her two sons were enrolled in our program. In 2008, after returning to college and receiving her units in Early Childhood Education she began teaching 3 year olds in the afternoon program and currently teaches 4 year olds in the morning and two classes of 3 year olds. In 2012 Miss Parminder received her AA in Early Childhood Education. One of her favorite things to do is to visit her family in England. When she has spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, shopping, and listening to country music!

Leslie began as a parent at St. Stephen’s, joining our staff as a lunch bunch assistant in 1996. She later became a classroom assistant teacher. After taking ECE classes, she became a classroom teacher in 2006. She currently teaches Pre-K classes in the morning. Leslie continues to update her education in ECE. Her hobbies include scrap booking, reading, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoys spending time with her family.

Monica joined St. Stephen’s as a parent in September of 1997. She began her career as an assistant in our 2-Year-Old Program. After attending Early Child Education classes at College of the Canyons, she became the Parent-Toddler Teacher in 2009. She also teaches 2 year olds on Monday through Thursday. Monica and her husband have two children, Allison and Wilson. She still enjoys taking classes at COC and volunteering in the community. During her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling.

Shannon Shannon first came to St. Stephen’s Preschool as a parent. She joined the staff as an assistant teacher in 2000 but has transitioned into a lead teacher. She has taken many Early Childhood Education classes and maintains a California teaching permit. Shannon currently teaches Pre-K on MWF and teaches three year olds on Tues/Thurs. She also does Full day on Tues/Thurs and Lunch Bunch on MWF. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, watching basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Laurie enrolled her three children to St. Stephen’s in the early 1990’s. She joined our staff in 2001 as an assistant teacher. She has taken many Early Childhood Education classes which has allowed her to also teach. She currently teaches 3 olds in the mornings five days a week and assists with 3 year olds in the afternoon Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Laurie also works the Early Bird program on Mondays & Fridays.

Kristin came to St Stephens first as a parent to enroll her oldest daughter in the preschool. She then joined the staff as a substitute teacher in 2013 and has assisted with the 2’s, 3’s and currently with the 4 year olds Monday-Friday. She is a wife and mother of 3 daughters and loves cheering for them at their soccer, tennis or swim meets. When not supporting them, she is either rooting for the Dodgers or her alma mater – UCLA. She enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking and discussing books with her good friends in a book club that she joined back as a parent at St. Stephen’s Preschool in 2002!

Jennifer has been working with children since she was a young teenager. She was a nanny for 5 years before transitioning to the early childcare education field. She has a BA in TV/Film from Cal State Northridge, and 12 ECE units. Her son attended St. Stephen’s Preschool for 3 years. She loves acting and is a huge “I Love Lucy”/Lucille Ball fan.

Gwen was born and raised in Washington state and moved to Los Angeles in 2002. Her husband convinced her to leave the city life and move to Valencia in 2013 where they live with their daughter and son (who both attended St. Stephen’s). Gwen has her Bachelors degree in Sociology/ Psychology with emphasis in children and family and a Master’s in Public Administration. She’s been working with children since she was thirteen years old through college. She’s happy to be back in a preschool setting! Gwen loves going to the beach with her family and once was brave enough to swim off the shore of the island of Lanai, Hawaii with wild spinner dolphins.

Kelsey has been working in the Early Childhood Education field for about 4 years now. She is currently working on her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with the goal to one day become a Child psychologist. During the week she works with children and on the weekends she transforms into a competitive obstacle course racer and work for shows such as American Ninja Warrior and Million Dollar Mile. 

Nelly has been working with children since she was a young teenager and continues to nanny in her spare time. She began her career at St. Stephen’s as an assistant in January 2018. Nelly is currently enrolled at College of the Canyons as she pursues her career in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, Nelly enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports, and going on dinner/movie dates with her husband.

Brittani is a mom of three. She was raised going to a private Christian school where she was known as the “go to babysitter”. Growing up she was a mother figure to her younger brother who is  11 years younger than she is. Brittani graduated from a non-credited Christian college for a little over a year studying Early Child Education while working at 24 Hour Fitness in the Kids Club center. She also has worked for the Westside Union School District in Leona Valley as a teachers aide and obtains a Cosmetology license. Brittani looking forward to being a part of the St. Stephen’s Preschool staff!
